Michael Jackson sharing with Paul Anka

As you all probably have heard, the recently deceased Michael Jackson has released a new single by the name of "This is It". People all over the world were told that "This is It" was simply a recording left behind by Jackson that noone had heard before. People were also informed that "This is It" was written and performed by Jackson only, however its been recently proven that, that is not true.

"This is It" was indeed written by Michael Jackson, but Paul Anka helped co-write the song as well about 26 years ago. "This is It" was also recorded and performed by the singer Safire under a diferent title known as "I Never Heard" back in 1991.

Yesterday afternoon, Paul Anka's contribution to "This is It" was acknowledged by the Jackson estate. The Jackson estate also claimed earlier today, that Anka would be given half of all due royalties for the song. Being given half of all profits made could very well be huge for Anka.

"This is It" is expected to be played during the credits at the end of the film "This is It" along with being featured on the film's soundtrack. Any licensed uses of the song on commercials or other films will also benefit Anka's profits. It's also been said that Coca-Cola has spoken to the Jackson estate about possibly using "This is It" in a huge ad campaign which could also be significant for Anka.

I think this is a huge opportunity for Paul Anka. As popular as I'm sure the song as well as the movie "This is It" will be, Anka will be receiving quite a large sum. I'm glad that the Jackson estate is giving Anka credit for the part that he played in the writing and recording of Jackson's possible las single, and I know this will work out greatly in his favor.
