For those of you who are not aware, Paramore realeased their new album, "Brand New Eyes" today in stores.
Paramore is a punk, rock band made up of 5 members. However, most people know Paramore by their spit-fiery, orange-haired lead singer Hayley Williams. Hayley Williams, soon to be 21, has been singing with the band since she was 14. Over the past seven years or so, the band has struggled due to pressure by the media. It took Paramore a long time to make a name for themselves, and even today, there are many people who, I am sure, have never heard of them.
The media is constantly comparing Paramore to bands who they would like to "see" or rather "hear" Paramore sound like. Although they have struggled with who they were as people, Paramore has always known what they were as a band.
Their last album, "Riot!" sold more than a million copies, and set the tone for their future success. With the release of "Brand New Eyes," also comes the kick off of their fall tour. Over twenty shows have already sold out which means things are looking good for them. "Brand New Eyes" received 3 stars out of 4. All of the songs on their album are about various things they have gone through as a band such as relationships, friends, and family.
I, myself, am a huge Paramore fan so I am a bit biased, but I feel that Paramore's success will only grow larger. They are a band that keeps it real. They do not try to be fake in order to impress. Paramore's songs are all written by members of the band. The stuff they sing about is real, and people love that about them and about music in general. Paramore's music is definitely something a lot of people can relate to. Paramore won a lot of fans over with a song that lead singer Hayley wrote and performed for the film "Twilght". Just as Hayley related to the book, so did many fans, and intern they all related to the music. Paramore has finally proved to the world that they are more than just a pop-punk band, and soon enough they will have everyone looking at the world through brand new eyes.

I've heard them on the radio a couple of times and each time for almost a second I keep confusing them with Fly Leaf. Granted in my opinion Paramore is better than Fly Leaf if comparing the two. If it wasn't for a broke Car CD Player I probably wouldn't have heard them at all because I'm more into aggressive music (Metal, Hardcore). So far they sound good for what they want to play and it shows how the progressed from seven years prior.
ReplyDeleteI have heard of them. Im not super familiar with their music but, I did enjoy all the music from the Twilight movie. I like bands who write their own music; it makes you feel like you kind of know them. I think this creates a much strong fan base. It looks like theyre on the right track.
ReplyDeleteI'm not really familiar with their music, but I certainly have a lot of respect for bands that write and perform their own music, especially considering that a lot of singers and bands out there don't do half that much. Its also nice to hear that they stayed true to themselves after years of struggling, instead of selling out to make it big.
ReplyDeleteI am not to familiar with their music. I have seen one of their music videos at the end of a MTV program I was watching. I remembered it was them from the bright hair. I think its great that they use real life situation and their own emotions in their music.Great Blog!
ReplyDeleteI've heard a couple of their songs, but I can't say I'm really familiar with their music either. But like Madison said, I remember seeing their videos on MTV mainly (like your point stated) because of the orange-haried, GIRL, lead singer. It's hard to come by a punk-rock band whose lead singer is a girl, a young girl at that. I also think Paramore opened up the doors to punk-rock bands that had female lead singers; I remember shortly after Paramore's video aired on MTV, I remember seeing more punk-rock groups (none of which I've ever heard of) that featured a female lead singer on channels like MTV and Fuse. I definitely think that they haven't reached the peak of their career, so a new album should do them much good.
ReplyDeleteI think I've heard their music before, but I can't say for sure since I'm band with the names of current bands. I know more about classic rock than today's rock/punk. None of it has ever appealed to me much, but a few. One reason why I don't like newer bands is because they come across as fake to me, but since I don't know anything about Paramore I can look them up sometime and learn what I can. So thank you for the tip.
