For those of you who are not aware, Paramore realeased their new album, "Brand New Eyes" today in stores.
Paramore is a punk, rock band made up of 5 members. However, most people know Paramore by their spit-fiery, orange-haired lead singer Hayley Williams. Hayley Williams, soon to be 21, has been singing with the band since she was 14. Over the past seven years or so, the band has struggled due to pressure by the media. It took Paramore a long time to make a name for themselves, and even today, there are many people who, I am sure, have never heard of them.
The media is constantly comparing Paramore to bands who they would like to "see" or rather "hear" Paramore sound like. Although they have struggled with who they were as people, Paramore has always known what they were as a band.
Their last album, "Riot!" sold more than a million copies, and set the tone for their future success. With the release of "Brand New Eyes," also comes the kick off of their fall tour. Over twenty shows have already sold out which means things are looking good for them. "Brand New Eyes" received 3 stars out of 4. All of the songs on their album are about various things they have gone through as a band such as relationships, friends, and family.
I, myself, am a huge Paramore fan so I am a bit biased, but I feel that Paramore's success will only grow larger. They are a band that keeps it real. They do not try to be fake in order to impress. Paramore's songs are all written by members of the band. The stuff they sing about is real, and people love that about them and about music in general. Paramore's music is definitely something a lot of people can relate to. Paramore won a lot of fans over with a song that lead singer Hayley wrote and performed for the film "Twilght". Just as Hayley related to the book, so did many fans, and intern they all related to the music. Paramore has finally proved to the world that they are more than just a pop-punk band, and soon enough they will have everyone looking at the world through brand new eyes.

Forks put in the spotlight
I'm sure everyone is very familiar with the "Twilight Saga". The "Twilight Saga" is a series of four books written by Stephanie Meyer. All of the books, "Twilight", "New Moon", "Eclipse", and "Breaking Dawn", take place in a small, eerie town by the name of Forks, Washington.
Forks has never been a popular town. In fact, Stephanie Meyer knew nothing of the place until she googled in search of a cold, rainey place for the setting of her "Twilight Saga". However, now that Stephanie Meyer's book "Twilight" was brought to life, the little town of Forks, Washington has been brought to life too.
Many people who have fallen deeply in love with the "Twilight Saga" have earned the nickname "Twilighters". "Twilighters" have made it an effort not to take a summer vacation to Disney World, but instead they have made an effort to vacation in Forks, Washington.
The people of Forks have opened a store called, "Dazzled by Twilight" where they sell Bella and Edward action figures. "Twilight" tours also take place by a black shuttle van that departs four times a day for two to three hours per tour. On the tour, a guide asks "Twilight" trivia questions about Bella's father's house and Rosalie and Jasper's real names.
Everyone that lives in Forks, Washington is benefiting from the "Twilight" outbreak. The Dew Drop Inn as turned one of their rooms into a Bella Suite and charge $149 a night as opposed to the regular rate of $83. People are booking the room on a regular basis. A local citzen of Forks by the name of Charlene Leppell owns a longtime flower and gift shop that was on the brink of closing until she came up with the idea to make fashionable "Bella for Prom Queen" shirts. Now it's safe to say that she is back in business. The local restaurant by the name of "Bella Italia" is the place in "Twilight" where Edward takes Bella to eat after rescuing her from a gang of older men on the verge of attacking her. Bella chooses to eat mushroom ravioli during her dinner. Since forks has become a tourist town, "Bella Italia" has sold 4,500 $17 bowls of mushroom ravioli just since the beginning of the year.
It sounds to me like the city of Forks, Washington owes a big thank you to Stephanie Meyer for choosing Forks as the setting of "Twilight". They also owe a huge thank you to those responsible for bringing "Twilight" to life. Forks, Washington is making money that they never imagined would be possible for their city. Who would have thought that a love story about a clumsy girl and a gorgeous vampire falling head over heels would have made people from all over the world want to visit the raniest place in the continental U.S. instesd of visting Paris, France? The world may never know.

Taylor speaks out.
As you all probably know, MTV aired the Video Music Awards on Sunday night September 13th. The Best Female Video went to Taylor Swift. This was Swift's first ever VMA since the start of her music career. For Taylor Swift, this was a huge accomplishment, and it was one of the happiest moments in her entire life. It was a huge milestone being that she was the first country artist to ever win a VMA. As she proceeded to give her acceptance speech, Kanye West came up and took the microphone from her screaming into it about how Beyonce Knowles had the best video of the decade and should have taken the award.
This morning, Taylor Swift made an appearance on "The View" aired on ABC. During the talk show she spoke about the MTV Video Awards incident with Kanye West. She said that she was a bit rattled and disappointed however, she never said anything negative about Kanye West. Taylor Swift is the type of person that doesn't speak badly about people even if they wrong her. She simply just writes songs about them. She is too kind for words. Taylor also spoke of how truly blessed she was to have such wonderful people in her life. She said that she was utterly grateful to all of her fans who had her back on twitter, myspace, and facebook. She told the hosts of "The View" that if Kanye West were to apologize to her than she would gladly accept, move on, and be perfectly okay with him in any future encounters.
Last night on "The Jay Leno Show", Kanye West was interviewed in an attempt for a public apology. However, he did everything but apologize. He sort of rambled on about different, random things and ended with saying that he simply got distracted from what he always dreamt the MTV awards should be like.
I was shocked and appaled by Kanye West's behavior towards Taylor Swift. She has worked so hard for everything that she has accomplished. She isn't your average country artist. She gets along with everybody. She loves everyone for who they are and is sincerely proud of them and their accomplishments. Perhaps that is why she was the first country artist to ever win a Video Music Award. It's a damn shame that her memory of one of her highest, proudest accomplishments will be of Kanye West yelling in a microphone saying she didn't deserve it.
